1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Vauxer Enterprises Private Limited, CIN U46901OD2023PTC044064, registered at Office 14, Ground Floor, Tower A, Startup Odisha (O-HUB), SEZ Road, Chandaka Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751024 (“DUNE”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the DUNE mobile application, website and related services (the “Platform”).
DUNE is a product of Vauxer Enterprises Private Limited. Vauxer operates the Platform as an intermediary connecting Requesters and Companions, publishes the app, arranges for payments to be collected from Requesters and disbursed to Companions through our payment partner, Razorpay, issues the tax invoice for its own Platform Fee and accounts for the GST on it, is responsible for your personal data as Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act, 2023, and handles support, disputes, refunds and grievances.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Code of Conduct, our Community Guidelines and our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

3. Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
- complete our face and liveness verification before making or accepting a Booking;
- not be barred from using the Platform under any applicable law, and not have been previously removed from the Platform;
- not be using a rooted, jailbroken, or otherwise tampered device, or any device we reasonably identify as suspicious or unsafe for use with the Platform.
We may refuse, suspend or terminate any account at our discretion where we reasonably believe these conditions are not met. Where we identify a rooted, jailbroken, or otherwise suspicious device associated with an account, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or delete that account, without prior warning or notice, given the security and fraud risk such devices present to you and to other Users.
4. Your account
- Register with accurate information and keep it current.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not share, sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your account, or the use of it, to anyone else. Where we find an account is being shared, sold, or traded, we reserve the right to ban it immediately, without prior warning or notice.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us immediately at support@dunexplore.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Verification — you must complete a face and liveness check before you can make or accept a Booking. This confirms that a real, live person is present and that they match the profile photos, and it is what enforces one account per person.
We do not currently require a government identity document, and we do not collect one. Verification confirms that you are a real and distinct person. It is not an identity check against any government record, not a background check, not a criminal-records check, and not a character reference. See section 15. (Companions separately provide their PAN and bank account details for payouts — see section 10.)
5. Our role
DUNE provides a technology platform that allows Users to discover one another and to arrange, schedule and pay for one another’s time for a stated Activity, and to host and attend Events.
Every Booking is for a specified Activity, chosen by the Requester and accepted by the Companion. Companionship on DUNE is platonic in all cases. The Platform is not for romantic, dating or sexual purposes, and nothing on it may be used to arrange them.
Companions are independent individuals, not our employees, agents, partners or contractors. We do not employ Companions, do not direct how they conduct a Session, do not supervise Sessions, and are not a party to the arrangement between a Requester and a Companion.
DUNE acts as an intermediary. We provide the technology that lets a Requester and a Companion find each other and arrange a Booking, and we arrange for payment collection and payout to be handled on their behalf through our third-party payment partner. The contract for the companionship itself — the Activity, the time, the meeting — is directly between the Requester and the Companion, not with us. We charge the Requester our Platform Fee for this matchmaking and facilitation service; the remainder of what the Requester pays belongs to the Companion for the companionship they provide.
Payment is collected from the Requester and the Companion’s share disbursed on their behalf by our third-party payment partner, at our direction, so that neither of you has to trust the other with money directly, and we remain your point of contact for support and for facilitating the resolution of disputes about a Booking — but we do this as the platform connecting you, not as the party that owes you the companionship itself.
We do not guarantee:
- that any Companion will accept a request;
- that any Session will meet your expectations;
- the accuracy of any User’s profile, photos or self-described attributes;
- the conduct, character, reliability or safety of any User.
6. How a Booking works
The Booking lifecycle is enforced by the Platform. Each step has a deadline, and deadlines are calculated by our servers.
- Request — a Requester selects the Activity, a Companion who has listed themselves as available for that Activity, and the duration, date, time and meeting area, then sends a request. No payment is taken at this stage.
- Acceptance window — the Companion has 10 minutes to accept. If they decline, or the window passes without a response, the request lapses and no charge is made.
- Payment window — once accepted, the Requester has 5 minutes to pay. If payment is not completed, the Booking lapses and the Companion’s time is released.
- Confirmed — on successful payment the Booking is confirmed, and in-app chat between the two Users unlocks.
- Session start — at the meetup, the Session begins when the start PIN is verified in the app. The Session duration is measured from that moment.
- Session close — the Session ends when the close PIN is verified.
- Dispute window — a 2-hour period follows completion, during which either User may raise an issue. If no issue is raised, the Companion’s payout is settled T+2 business days after the window closes, excluding bank holidays and other holidays. If an issue is raised, our internal team reviews it before any payout or refund is processed.
Important mechanics
- A Companion cannot hold two overlapping confirmed Bookings. Availability shown in the app is indicative; the confirmed Booking is authoritative.
- PINs are single-use, time-limited and rate-limited. Sharing your PIN with anyone other than the User you are meeting, at the meetup, is a breach of these Terms.
- We recommend keeping location switched on. Where it is available, we record each User’s position when a Session starts and closes, and whether you were within 1 kilometre of each other. A Session starts and closes normally whether or not location is enabled — but if a dispute arises, a User who can show they were present is in a considerably stronger position than one who cannot.
- If a Session is not closed within 30 minutes of its scheduled end, we close it automatically and mark it as such.
- The price is calculated by our servers at the time of the request, based on duration and the Requester’s Membership tier. The price shown at confirmation is the price payable.
- The Session is for the Activity stated in the Booking. Neither User may pressure the other into a different activity, and either may end the Session if it departs from what was agreed. Persistently doing so is a breach of these Terms and of the Code of Conduct.
7. Pricing, payment and taxes
- Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (₹). The amount shown against a Companion is what the Companion receives for their time. Our Platform Fee is charged to the Requester on top of this, for the matchmaking and facilitation service we provide.
- GST at 18% applies to our Platform Fee, not to the Companion’s share. GST is shown as a separate line at checkout, and the total displayed before you confirm is the total you pay.
- On completion of a Booking, you will see two records for it: a tax invoice from DUNE covering our Platform Fee and the GST on it, and a receipt covering the amount paid to the Companion for the companionship itself. Most Companions are individuals below the GST registration threshold and do not charge GST on their share; if a Companion is GST-registered, that is between the Companion and the Requester and does not change what DUNE charges.
- We retain a commission, the Platform Fee, from the Booking value. The Platform Fee is not fixed and may change at our discretion. The rate that applies to a given Booking is the rate in effect at the time that Booking was made — not the rate in effect later, when the Session completes or a payout or refund is processed. You can check the current rate at any time via the ⓘ icon on your profile, under “How DUNE works.” We do not have to give advance notice before changing the rate; where we do change it, we notify you by push notification. The balance, after the Platform Fee, is disbursed to the Companion, less tax deducted or collected at source where applicable, after the Session completes and the dispute window closes.
- Which payment goes where. Bookings and event seats are paid inside the app and processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. Subscriptions — Membership and photo privacy — are billed only through Google Play, because Google’s Payments policy requires it for digital goods bought inside an Android app. This is why cancelling a subscription happens in the Play Store while a booking refund happens here. Payouts to Companions and Hosts are also processed through Razorpay, and are settled T+2 business days after the 2-hour dispute window closes, excluding bank holidays and other holidays.
- We store your bank account number, IFSC code and PAN for payout processing.
- If you provide payout details belonging to someone other than yourself, you accept full responsibility for that choice. We will not entertain any dispute, refund claim, or payment-related complaint arising from funds paid out to a bank account that was not genuinely yours.
- We hold Booking funds until the Session completes and the dispute window closes, after which the Companion’s share is released.
- You are responsible for any charges your bank or payment provider applies.
- We will issue a receipt or invoice for each payment as required by law.
Taxes. We account for GST on our Platform Fee as required by law. Companions are responsible for their own income tax and, where their turnover requires it, their own GST registration and filing on their share of a Booking. As the platform facilitating the payment, we collect Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on the Companion’s share where required under Section 52 of the CGST Act, and deduct tax at source under Section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, remitting both to the government and providing the corresponding certificates.
8. Membership
Standard access is free. Gold (₹5,999/month) and Elite (₹9,999/month) give your profile priority visibility in discovery — member profiles are shown higher in other Users’ feeds than they otherwise would be. Elite ranks above Gold.
Gold and Elite are also what make you eligible to host Events. Only a User with an active Gold or Elite Membership may create an Event — see section 11.
Priority visibility affects where your profile appears, not who books you. It is not a guarantee of any number of Bookings, of any earnings, or of any particular position in a feed. Discovery also weighs distance, activity match, availability, rating and other factors, and we may change how those are weighted at any time.
Changing tier
- Gold to Elite takes effect after the current Gold period ends, not immediately.
- Elite to Gold, and any downgrade, takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If your Membership lapses or is cancelled
- Events you have already created remain valid and go ahead as listed. Your obligations as Host under section 11 continue in full.
- You cannot create new Events until you hold an active Membership again.
- If a Membership or account is suspended and upcoming Events must be cancelled as a result, affected attendees are refunded under the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Billing
- Memberships are billed through Google Play. Your payment is processed by Google under Google’s terms, and Google’s refund policies apply to it. Manage or cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store.
- Memberships renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Cancel any time in the app. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not end the current period. You keep your benefits until the period you have paid for expires.
- Membership fees are non-refundable. No refund is given once a billing period has begun, whether or not you used it, and unused days are not remitted — in cash, in credit, or pro-rata. This applies equally where we suspend or close your account for breach of these Terms or the Code of Conduct.
- If you are charged in error — a duplicate charge, or a charge after cancellation — we will refund it in full, subject to Google’s process where the payment was made through Google Play.
- We may change Membership pricing or benefits with 30 days’ notice. If you don’t accept a change, cancel before it takes effect.
- Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
8A. Photo privacy
Photo privacy is a separate monthly subscription, currently ₹249 a month. While it is on, your photos are shown to others with your face, or your eyes, covered. It is not a Membership benefit and has no connection to Gold or Elite: any account can buy it, and no Membership includes it.
- You always see your own photos unchanged, and so does anyone you have a confirmed Booking with. The cover is for everyone else.
- It is billed through Google Play on the same terms as Membership above — Google processes the payment, Google’s refund policy applies, and you cancel it in the Google Play Store.
- When the subscription ends, your photos stay covered. We do not uncover them automatically. Turning the cover off is always free and always your decision — the subscription buys the ability to switch it on, not the cover itself.
- Because the cover is applied when a photo is uploaded or changed, it cannot be applied to a photo that other people have already seen and saved. It changes what is shown from now on.
9. Cancellation and refunds
Set out in full in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Summarised here.
9.1 Before a Booking is confirmed
No charge is made until payment. A request that is declined, or that lapses because the acceptance or payment window passed, costs you nothing.
9.2 After a Booking is confirmed
| Situation | Requester receives | Companion receives |
|---|
| Either party cancels a confirmed Booking, at any notice | The amount paid, less DUNE's Platform Fee | — |
| Companion does not arrive | The amount paid, less DUNE's Platform Fee | — |
| Requester does not arrive | Nothing | Their full share |
| Session ends early by mutual agreement | Nothing | Their full share |
| Session ends early due to a Code of Conduct breach | Decided on review | Decided on review |
DUNE’s Platform Fee on every confirmed Booking is non-refundable, whoever cancels and however much notice is given. It covers payment processing, the tax accounted for on it, and the cost of holding a Companion’s time exclusively for that Booking. The rate applied to a refund is the rate that was in effect when the Booking was made — see section 7.
We absorb the payment gateway fee on Booking cancellations and on Event seats you cancel — the amount we state is the amount that reaches you. The exception is an Event cancelled by its Host, where the processing fee is deducted.
9.3 Events
Event refunds are set out in section 11.
9.4 How to request a refund
Raise it through in-app support within 7 days of the Session. We will review the Booking record, the dispute window, and any reports, and respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 3-7 business days, depending on the outcome of our review, excluding bank holidays and other holidays.
9.5 Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a Booking, raise it with us first. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending resolution. Where a chargeback is raised on a Session that our records show was completed, we will submit those records — including PIN verification and Session timing — as evidence.
10. Terms for Companions
If you offer companionship on the Platform, this section and our Companion Agreement apply to you.
- You are an independent individual. These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship. You decide whether to accept any request, and you may decline any request for any lawful reason.
- Payout. After the Session closes and the 2-hour dispute window ends with no issue raised, you receive the listed Booking value less DUNE’s Platform Fee, less Tax Collected at Source (TCS) and any tax deducted at source. Your payout is settled T+2 business days after the dispute window closes, excluding bank holidays and other holidays. If an issue is raised, our internal team reviews it before any payout is processed. The Platform Fee is not fixed and may change — the rate applied to your payout is the rate that was in effect when the Booking was made. You can check the current rate at any time via the ⓘ icon on your profile, under “How DUNE works.”
- Payout onboarding. When you switch on Companion mode, you must provide your PAN and your own bank account number and IFSC code, and complete any onboarding required by our payment partner, Razorpay. We verify that these details match before you can engage in your first Booking Session. A complete profile alone does not make you payout-ready. If the bank account you provide belongs to someone other than you, you forfeit the right to raise any dispute over that payout, and we will not entertain refund or payment-related complaints arising from it.
- Your obligations. Arrive at the agreed place and time; provide the time booked; behave in accordance with the Code of Conduct; do not solicit payment outside the Platform.
- Taxes. As the platform facilitating your payout, we collect 1% Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on your share of a Booking under Section 52 of the CGST Act, and deduct tax at source under Section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, remitting both to the government. Beyond this, you are solely responsible for your own income tax, and for your own GST registration and filing if your turnover requires it. We will provide TCS and TDS certificates for what we deduct or collect.
- Withheld payouts. We may withhold or reverse a payout where a Booking is disputed, where we reasonably suspect fraud, or where a Code of Conduct breach is under investigation. Our internal team reviews the matter before any payout or refund is processed. We will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond.
- Cancellations and no-shows. If you cancel a Booking you accepted, or do not arrive, you receive no payment for it and the Requester is refunded the amount paid, less DUNE’s Platform Fee at the rate that applied when the Booking was made.
- Repeated cancellation. We record every Booking cancelled after payment. A single cancellation carries no consequence beyond the Booking itself, but where the record shows a pattern of accepting Bookings and then cancelling them, we will review the account. We do not require a report from an affected Requester in order to do so; where reports exist, we take them into account. Following that review we may take no action, issue a warning, suspend the account for a period of between 3 and 30 days, or terminate it. What we weigh is the pattern, the notice given, the reasons and the account history — not a fixed number of cancellations. Section 18 applies to any suspension or termination under this provision.
- If the Requester does not arrive, you still receive your share. You set aside the time, and that is not your fault.
11. Events
11.1 How an Event is scheduled
Only a User with an active DUNE Gold or Elite Membership may host an Event. Event-hosting eligibility is a Membership benefit under section 8. If your Membership lapses, Events you have already created remain valid and you must still honour them, but you cannot create new ones until you renew.
An Event has a fixed start time and end time, set by the Host at listing. An Event must run for no less than 30 minutes and no more than 6 hours, and may offer no more than 10 seats.
A Host may start one Event per calendar day, measured by the Event’s start time in Indian Standard Time. The day resets at midnight IST. An Event that begins before midnight runs for its full scheduled duration and is not cut short by the reset — but a Host cannot start a new Event until the previous one has ended, so a Host is never scheduled to be in two places at once.
11.2 Check-in
On joining and paying, an attendee is issued a 4-digit check-in PIN. At the Event, the attendee presents it to the Host, and the Host enters it to record that attendee as present.
- Check-in opens at the Event’s scheduled start time and closes at its scheduled end time. A PIN entered before the start time is rejected. An Event listed to begin at 6:00pm accepts its first check-in at 6:00pm and not before, however early the attendee or the Host arrives.
- There is no check-out. An Event ends at its scheduled end time.
- Where location is available, we record attendee position across the Event as described in section 6 and in our Privacy Policy. This is recommended, never required.
- An attendee must not disclose their PIN before being physically present at the Event. Doing so is a breach of the Code of Conduct, and so is a Host soliciting PINs in advance.
- Check-in records attendance. It is not what closes the refund window — see 11.3.
11.3 Cancellation, refunds and Host payment
Attendees purchase a seat, not a guarantee of any particular experience.
- If an attendee cancels their seat before the scheduled start time, they receive the seat price less DUNE’s Platform Fee, at the rate that applied when the seat was booked. Once the scheduled start time passes, a seat cannot be cancelled and no refund is given, whether or not the attendee was checked in.
- If an attendee attends and the Host does not check them in, the attendee may report it within 2 hours of the scheduled end time and we will review it. Where the review finds the attendee was turned away or not checked in through no fault of their own, they are refunded in full and the Host receives a strike.
- Hosts receive ticket revenue for seats checked in, less DUNE’s Platform Fee at the rate that applied when each seat was booked. A 2-hour dispute window follows the scheduled end time; if no issue is raised, the payout is settled T+2 business days after that window closes, excluding bank holidays and other holidays. Payouts are subject to any open report, to internal team review of any issue raised, and to section 10’s withholding provisions.
- If more than half the attendees who checked in report the Event or the Host, we review it. Where that review finds the Event was misrepresented, unsafe or not delivered as listed, everyone who checked in is refunded in full.
- If a Host cancels an Event, we review the cancellation before any refund is made, including the notice given and the Host’s messages to attendees. Where the Host cancelled with reasonable notice and told attendees what was happening, attendees receive the full ticket price less the payment processing fee, which is not returned to us on a refund. Where they did not, attendees receive the ticket price less DUNE’s Platform Fee, or such other amount as we determine on the facts. The Host also receives a strike.
- If an Event does not take place as described, attendees are refunded in full on review.
- We may remove an Event listing that breaches these Terms or the Code of Conduct, and refund attendees.
11.4 Consequences for Hosts
There is no fixed number of strikes and no standard suspension period. We record strikes for cancelled Events, for failing to check in attendees who attended, and for upheld reports, but a strike does not by itself trigger any outcome.
We review the Host’s ratings and reviews, the pattern of strikes, disputes and reports over time, how each situation was handled, and any safety concern, and we may then take no action, issue a warning, suspend the ability to host for a period of between 3 and 30 days, or remove hosting access permanently.
Any suspension of hosting will be for no less than 3 days and no more than 30 days. Where in that range is determined on the facts of the case; there is no standard period. Permanent removal of hosting access is a separate outcome, reserved for serious or repeated matters, and we will tell you which decision we have taken.
One Event carries at most one strike, however many attendees it affected. A genuine emergency, reviewed and accepted by us, does not carry a strike.
Removal of hosting access is not termination of your account. Where we suspend or remove your ability to host Events, you may continue to use the Platform as a Companion and as a Requester. Your Membership continues, earned payouts are unaffected, and the forfeiture provisions in section 18 do not apply — those apply only where the account itself is suspended or terminated for breach.
We will tell you which rule is in question and give you an opportunity to respond, except where doing so would compromise a safety investigation, and you may appeal to support@dunexplore.com. A different person reviews the appeal from the one who made the original decision.
We do not organise, inspect, supervise or insure Events. Section 13 applies to Events in full.
12. Conduct
Your use of the Platform is subject to our Code of Conduct, which forms part of these Terms. In particular, and without limiting it:
- DUNE is not a platform for sexual services. Soliciting, offering or arranging sexual activity in exchange for anything of value is prohibited and results in immediate permanent removal.
- Do not harass, threaten, deceive, impersonate or endanger any User.
- Do not move payment or booking off the Platform to avoid fees or safety checks.
- Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, or use it to build a competing product.
- Do not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not share, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your account to anyone else.
- Do not use a rooted, jailbroken, or otherwise tampered or suspicious device to access the Platform.
Breach of the Code of Conduct is a breach of these Terms. Account-sharing/selling and use of a rooted, jailbroken, or suspicious device are treated as immediate grounds for suspension or deletion of the account, without prior warning or notice — see sections 3 and 4.
13. Safety and assumption of risk
Read this section carefully. It concerns your physical safety.
The Platform arranges in-person meetings between people who do not know each other. That carries real risk, and you accept it.
- We do not conduct background checks. Verification confirms that a User is a real, unique adult who matches their profile photos. It does not screen for criminal history, violence, or intent.
- We do not supervise Sessions or Events. No DUNE representative is present.
- You are responsible for your own safety decisions — whether to accept a Booking, where to meet, whether to stay, and when to leave.
- Use the safety features. Meet in the agreed public area, keep live location sharing on during a Session, and use the report and block tools.
- You may leave at any time. Ending a Session early for your own safety will never count against you, and you should report it afterward.
- In an emergency, contact local emergency services first (112 in India), then tell us.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume all risks arising from meeting other Users in person, and you release DUNE from claims arising from the conduct of any other User, whether on or off the Platform.
If a Companion or Requester behaves inappropriately, misbehaves, or causes a nuisance during a Booking, that is not DUNE’s responsibility, and we are not financially or legally liable for it, including that we do not compensate for it. This follows directly from section 4: we do not conduct background checks, and Companions and Requesters are independent individuals whose conduct we do not supervise or control. You may still report such conduct under our Code of Conduct and Community Guidelines, and we will review it and may take moderation action against the account concerned — but reviewing a report is not the same as accepting liability, and no compensation claim will be entertained on the basis of it.
14. Content and intellectual property
Your content. You retain ownership of the photos, text and other material you upload. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and display) and display that content solely to operate, secure and promote the Platform, for as long as you keep it on the Platform and for the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
Our content. The DUNE name and logo, the registered trade marks, and the copyright in the app, its design, software, text and other Platform content are owned by us or our licensors.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any of it to you. You are granted a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose, and nothing more. In particular you may not copy, adapt or reverse engineer the Platform, or use the DUNE name or logo, without our prior written permission.
Moderation. We may review, refuse, remove or restrict any content that breaches these Terms or the Code of Conduct.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
- We make no warranty about any User — their conduct, their reliability, their statements, or the quality of any Session or Event.
- Verification confirms that a real, live person matches their profile photos and holds only one account. It does not confirm who they are. We do not check any User’s identity against a government record, and a verification badge must not be relied on as though we had.
- We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any User, on or off the Platform.
- We are not liable for failures of third-party services (payment gateway, verification partner, maps, network or device).
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, goodwill, data or opportunity, however caused.
- These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if we were advised of the possibility of the loss.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DUNE, its directors, employees and agents from any claim, liability, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your use of the Platform;
- your breach of these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or any law;
- your conduct toward any other User, including during a Session or Event;
- any content you upload;
- any tax liability that is properly yours.
18. Suspension and termination
By you. Close your account at any time in the app — see how to delete your account. Closure does not entitle you to a refund of a Membership period already begun, and does not cancel confirmed Bookings — cancel those separately under section 9. If you close your account voluntarily you may sign up again later; see our Privacy Policy.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or the Code of Conduct, if we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity, if required by law, or to protect other Users.
This section applies to your account. Losing access to a single feature is not the same thing: where we suspend or remove your ability to host Events under section 11.4, your account continues, your Membership continues, and nothing below applies.
A temporary suspension and a termination are not the same thing.
On a temporary suspension
- Your account is closed to use for the stated period and reopens at the end of it.
- Your Membership is not cancelled, but it is not paused either — it continues to run through the suspension, is not extended afterwards, and is not refunded for the days you could not use.
- Nothing you have paid is forfeited, and any payouts you have already earned are released as normal.
- Confirmed Bookings falling inside the suspension are cancelled, and the other User, where not at fault, is refunded in full.
On termination for breach
- No refund is given, and you may not claim back any amount you have spent on the Platform — Booking fees, Event tickets, Membership payments or otherwise.
- Any active Membership ends immediately, with no refund and no remittance of unused days.
- Confirmed Bookings are cancelled. Where the other User is not at fault, they are refunded in full.
- No compensation is payable for loss of access, lost Bookings, or anything else arising from the suspension or closure.
- Payouts you have already earned are still released, less any amounts properly deducted, once any investigation concludes. The exception is earnings arising from the breach itself — fabricated Bookings, fraud, or payments obtained dishonestly — which are withheld.
- Your licence to use the Platform ends, and sections 13, 14 (our content), 15, 16, 17 and 19 survive.
Appeals. If your account is suspended or banned, you may appeal at support@dunexplore.com. A different person reviews the appeal from the one who made the original decision. We will tell you which term you are alleged to have breached and give you an opportunity to respond, except where doing so would compromise a safety investigation. If we got it wrong, we reinstate your account and refund anything that should not have been forfeited.
19. Complaints and disputes
Step 1 — talk to us. Raise any issue through in-app support or at support@dunexplore.com. Most problems are resolved here.
